At Meteomatics, we're a team of proud nerds who gather and deliver the most accurate weather data with our unique Meteodrones, bridging the meteorological data gap!
To make our drones fly, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer, preferable with some experience in drones and aerodynamics, to join our team in St. Gallen!
Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications.
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for drones and drone boxes, considering factors such as manufacturability, structural integrity, and reliability.
- Conduct simulations, analysis, and feasibility studies to ensure performance and safety of designs.
- Create detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Prototype, test, and iterate designs to achieve desired performance and functionality.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure efficient production processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in drone technology.
Your qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least two years professional work experience in mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with structural analysis, simulation, and optimization tools is desirable.
- Familiarity with drone components, propulsion systems, and aerodynamics is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to present and explain complex technical concepts. Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory, German skills beneficial.
