We are looking for a proactive and experienced Drone Pilot to join our team in the USA.
You will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing drone operations to support weather data collection. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in drone technology and operations, knowledge of relevant airspace regulations, and the ability to analyze data collected during flights.
Your responsibilities
Flight Operations: Plan and conduct drone missions, including pre-flight checks, flight path planning, and execution of flights according to operational requirements and safety protocols. Flights will primarily be conducted from Monday to Friday at the Kessler Atmospheric and Ecological Field Station (KAEFS) in Oklahoma.
Data Collection and Analysis: Ensure accurate data collection and secure data transmission. Collaborate with other team members to process and analyze the collected data. Maintain detailed flight logs and prepare reports on flight performance and mission outcomes.
Coordination and Communication: Coordinate flight closely with air traffic control, airspace participants and project partners to ensure safe and efficient flight operations and timely delivery of accurate results.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of drone equipment, including software updates, battery management, and repairs. Ensure all equipment is up to date and operational.
Customer Demonstrations: Conduct flight demonstrations for potential customers across the USA, which may require occasional travel.
Your qualifications
Flight Operations: Proven experience (1+ years) in drone (flight) operations, including experience with mission planning, data collection, and equipment maintenance.
Certifications: Valid drone pilot certifications (FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent certification) and a valid driver's license required.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of drone technology, flight control system and drone maintenance. Proven ability to work independently.
Communication: Good communication skills in English and willingness to coordinate with stakeholders, project partners and authorities.
Working permit: U.S. working permit is essential.
